Impromptu Poetry

I was challenged by Podgy to write impromptu poetry.  This, folks, is not a forte.  It is certainly not something that I do on a regular basis, but I have been known to bang out a few lines or verses when the mood strikes.

These are not from today, but they were impromptu at the time.  They are from the days when I was very stressed out looking for a new apartment last fall.  Like most people, I find apartment hunting a horribly awful experience just because of all the uncertainty that comes with it.  The stress was compounded by work stress, so I was working hard not to be cranky-pants all the time.

Here goes ....

A troubled path starts
when knowledge and compassion
pass the heart as ice.

The second, and the more positive of the two ...

Peace in many forms
can be most easily found
when you are you alone.

There you have it folks.  Short, if not sweet.  That is how I roll in the poetry world.

(I can't think of anybody to tag.  I need more friends with blogs, I think.)

Awesome!

Everyone has their own strengths. I can't do haiku to save my life.

I was in Ohio recently and went to a sushi restaurant called Haiuku. After eating, you wrote a haiku on a slip of paper and a pasted it up on the wall. Talk about pressure!
